N.J. MARINE SCIENCES CONSORTIUM
The WEF (Watchung Educational Foundation) and Watchung Pediatrics have
once again funded the second grade project with the Education Program at the NJ Marine Sciences Consortium/NJ Sea Grant. They visited Bayberry on Wednesday, November 30th for 4 classroom presentations.
Each of our second grade classes was able to interact with the presenters on the topic “Fish Anatomy and Morphology.” The students investigated fish shape through Gyotaku, the ancient art of Japanese fish printing, and direct observation of live and model fish. Students also built a paper fish and participate in a story-telling activity that assessed their new understanding of fish locomotion.
